In 2008, The online appointment booking and cancellation system developed by QuickClic Finland Oy was recognised by the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) as the best product-development project of 2008.

 

Booking and cancelling appointment online frees time for care work

The piloting of the online service was completed successfully at the HUS Hyvinkää Hospital. Customer feedback was positive, and the system has freed up nurses’ time for essential care work.

Ulla Keränen, the chief physician for the Department of Surgery and the head of the operative unit, is satisfied with the outcome of the pilot. She thinks it is crucial to concentrate hospital resources on patient safety and care work.

‘The pilot will be rolled out to wider use, pending HUS management decision. The service is modern and very easy to use,’ Keränen says.

Chief Medical Officer Juha Tuominen agrees and finds the appointment booking and cancellation service an innovative service that improves the overall productivity of the hospital.
